The Road Map by Multiplicity
Art and Culture, improvising public spaces
The Road Map (2003) is the result of an experiment carried out in order to measure the density of border devices characterizing the social space of the surrounding area of Jerusalem. The two taxi journeys - one undertaken by an Israeli passenger and the other
by a Palestinian - underline the extraordinary entanglement of zones, borders and control points which make this region one of the hardest in the world to inhabit. Their project creates a strong connection amongst the specific problems of the village and the
background of the relationship between Israeli and Palestinian people within the context of Israel today.
There are no public or other spaces, but homes* in Ein Hawd, the project was exhibited in the unders construction home of one of the villagers.
